LUFFA SOAP TUTORIAL

What the heck is a Luffa, you ask?

It is a fibrous spongey-squishy-scratchy gourd-like thing
that grows on a vine, weighs a ton when green and light as a feather when cured.
It's a bath sponge, a car scrubber, an edible vegetable, too.
How's that for an explanation?

Here is a baby luffa after pollination.

We grow as many of these each year that we can!

Wub decided to make use of the old A-frame left on adjoining abandoned property.
What better to use it for than to grow luffa on?

Wub hooks up the tractor to drag the A frame.
It broke in the middle and fell to the ground, but what the heck, we'll just fix it and put that sucker back up!
And there he goes!
The luffa frame is pretty much set up!
Cody shovels cement into the holes where the legs of the A-frame are.
Wub tills around the box frame.
Now how lucky can a guy get. He found this horseshoe while tilling. Is this a good sign?

Hubby finishes the box frame around the arbor,
making a few fencing changes and adding more fence for the luffa to climb on.

The framed boxes around the luffa arbor are filled with goodies.
The seeds were planted, and the next day, it rained!
Boy, this is going to be a great season!

Once the heat comes, so do the fruits of our labor!

A peek at the luffa sharing space with birdhouse gourds.
